What Warranty Comes with My Purchase?

All made-to-order sofas, chairs, sofa beds and upholstered furniture from The English Sofa Company include the following protection:

• 15-year guarantee on the frame
Covers the structural frame from the date of delivery.

• 12-month guarantee on your chosen leather or fabric
Covers manufacturing defects relating to the upholstery.

If you would like additional peace of mind, we offer an optional 5-year accidental damage warranty, available at £50 per seat.
For example:
• 2.5 Seater = £125
• 3 Seater = £150

Extended 5-Year Insurance – What Is It?

This optional policy protects your furniture against accidental staining, accidental damage and certain structural defects.
It is a stand-alone insurance product, so please check whether you already hold similar cover elsewhere to avoid duplication.

This policy is ideal for busy homes, families, pet owners, or anyone wanting long-term reassurance.

What Is Insured?

Accidental Staining

Covers stains from any household substance, including:
✔ Food
✔ Drinks
✔ Cosmetics
✔ Ink
✔ Paint

Accidental Damage

Covers unexpected physical damage, including:
✔ Rips & tears
✔ Burns
✔ Scratches & scuffs
✔ Punctures
✔ Dents & chips
✔ Heat rings
✔ Broken glass components
✔ Broken frame components

Structural Defects

Covers certain failures that occur outside of manufacturer defects, such as:
✔ Frame defects
✔ Fabric defects (e.g., fraying)
✔ Peeling or lifting of wood finishes
✔ Bent or broken metal components
✔ Excessive loss of resilience to cushion interiors
✔ Mechanical / electrical recliner component failures
✔ Broken zips, castors and buttons
✔ Separation of seams or stitching
✔ Lifting or peeling of leather/vinyl
✔ Broken springs or stretched webbing

Valid claims will be settled by cleaning or repairing your furniture.
If repair or cleaning is not possible, an alternative settlement will be offered.

What Is Not Insured?

✘ Deliberate damage
✘ Wear and tear
✘ Damage that builds up gradually over time
✘ Structural defects already covered within the manufacturer’s first-year guarantee
✘ Colour change or damage caused by sunlight, oils or perspiration
✘ Incorrect cleaning products or methods
✘ Damage from animals other than your pets
✘ General cleaning or maintenance

Your Obligations Under This Policy

• Take reasonable care of your furniture
• Follow care instructions
• Report claims within 28 days of discovering the damage
• Provide accurate information
• Use the furniture for domestic purposes only

Restrictions on Cover

! You must be 18 or over
! You must be a resident of the UK, Channel Islands, or Isle of Man
! Furniture must not exceed a value of £20,000
! Furniture must be new and undamaged when cover begins
! Insurance cannot be transferred
! Settlement will not exceed the original purchase price
